I have a shower and faucet setup in my bathroom. The Hot/Cold water is controlled by one lever which is mounted on a circular plate. Upon the circular plate is also a smaller lever for diverting the water from the faucet to the shower so the faucet does not have anything on it, its just a faucet. Recently a problem arose when the lever to turn the shower on was thrown the faucet would still be releasing water and water would come out of the shower but there would be no pressure. So what has happened is the water is half coming out of the faucet and half coming out of the shower head. We called in a plumber and he claims that its absolutely necessary for me to find the same exact shower and faucet set so this problem can be repaired is that correct? To me it seems like any similar setup should be able to work. To make matters worse I am not able to locate the same exact shower and faucet set even while I have the item number from the store I purchased it from.

Ok, the set looks almost exactly like this but instead of the little knob on the faucet you pull up to get the water from the faucet to the shower its a little lever which is on the circular plate.

Remove supply lines disconnect ptrap and drain easily remove the sink from the wall set sink on floor and began disconnect the faucet the POP UP drain connect the new faucet and POP UP before setting lav sink back on wall.

After loosening the end of the faucet where the screen was I believe the inner fitting also came loose. This is where the copper pipe connects. Then the faucet end screws into this fitting. How can I reconnect the pipe to the fitting? Was this a weld I broke? The pipe doesn’t just fit into the connector. Or maybe it would be less expensive to replace the faucet instead of calling a plumber if this cannot be fixed myself? Any advice would be appreciated! THANKS!
