Fixing faucet leak in bathroom. How to replace the seat and spring on a Delta Faucet.

Just wondering if you guy’s can throw out some links or some info on some faucet and shower head water filter units that attach to the shower and replace the shower head and use filtration types like reverse osmosis and micro levels of 1. I’ll be using one for my kitchen sink, my bathroom sink, and my shower head. I want to be able to easily mount them to the faucets and filter out parasites and micro-organisms.

My city or portion of town has been on a boil alert for like ever. It’s highly contaminated water. Plus worms eggs are in tap water. Unless your city has a bad ass top of the line state of the art water treatment plant. In my part of town, I believe the treatment plant is hella low end. So I will need filters on all water sources that filter at a 1 micro level with reverse osmosis preferably. It’s an apartment, so I can’t really do the house filter, I don’t think. Plus I don’t want to spend much money. I don’t mind buying tons of water at the store but it would be awesome to get filters on all my water sources since I use a nasal rinse in the shower with contaminated water it’s not good. Plus I have allergies and I get a stuffed up nose after using tap water. When I use distilled water, my nose is clear as a whistle.

A roommate and I just began renting an apartment. We’ve been here about 3 weeks so far, and noticed a lot wrong with it. We were shown a different apartment, since the actual model wasn’t available. It looked nice, so we gave our 0 holding fee, and filled out the apps. She called us back a few days later.. and showed us the apartment. It was very different.. ‘some’ of the issues include, a bright orange spot 2′x2′ on the ‘new’ carpet, shower head didn’t work, smoke alarm goes off whenever we turn on the hot water, or open the bathroom door, washer wasn’t mounted down to the cabinet [I actually cut myself from it] cupboards weren’t cork boarded, kitchen sink leaked, and the wood underneath was eaten through, and a welted piece of wood was stuck over it, [They tightened the faucet, 'fixing' the leak, but they say they can't do anything other than put more wood down for the hole.. ] the bathroom sink leaks, and there is mold underneath.. it’s just one thing after another. I really want to break my lease.. and find a new apartment, but I signed an 11 month lease.. and the fee would be 00 to buy out of it, and I can’t afford that. The rent is 0/mo, and is located in Spokane, WA. I looked up WA rental laws, and they’re similar to most.

I informed them of issues, and they pretty much said, ‘well, we can’t really fix that.’ or.. ‘every apartment has issues,’ or ‘you were informed of that before moving in’ which we weren’t..

What would you suggest?

I have always assumed that tap water from the bathroom faucet was no different from water from the tap water from the sink and perfectly drinkable, but I have come across many people who are phobic about tap water from the bathroom sink. Is this phobia merited?

The drain in my bathroom sink smells like rotten eggs every time I use the faucet in my bathroom. It’s not clogged and the water flows down the drain fine. I’ve tried pouring some bleach down the drain to try and get rid of the smell but it still stinks. It’s the only drain in our house that smells like that. Any ideas on how to get rid of this smell?

Does anyone know how to clean out the faucet in my bathroom sink?

It used to spray VERY hard.. now it barely trickles when I turn it on. Its not the water pressure, because no other spouts in my entire house are like this..

I know it likely has to do with the texture of the other materials but is this statement even true or am I just perceiving as much. Your bathroom sink’s faucet seems free of mold yet it is constantly running with water. How do you get mold elsewhere but not here?

It then begs the question why shower stalls and bathtubs aren’t made of metal doesn’t it?

My bathroom sink water valves need to be replaced and the water hoes are old copper ones that gotta go… any webpage or book I should look into?
